Soft glam makeup

Start with a primer that suits you best, either hydrating or mattifying. This year, a sheer illuminating foundation is what we are going for instead of a matte full coverage one. Finish the face makeup with your normal routine of contour, bronzer and blush. Then put a glowy champagne coloured highlighter on the highpoints of your cheeks, eyebrows, tip of your nose, cupid’s bow and the inner corner of your eyes to add more fun to the look.

For the eyes, we will keep it relatively simple with a matte eyeshadow look. Start with a light shade like nude or cream and wear it all over the eyelid. Then put a neutral brown shade in your crease. Using the highlighter you used on your face, highlight your inner corner, the centre of your eyelid and the highest point of your brow bone. Go on with your usual eyeliner and mascara. You can add lashes to dress up the look some more.

As for the star of the show, choose a bold wintery lip colour such as bright red, dark red, burgundy or berry for a beautiful simple holiday look with a pop of colour!

Colourful, winter smoky eye

Start with an eye primer or a concealer to get vibrant eyeshadow colours (emerald, royal blue, dark purple). Start with a light cream shade on your brow bone and a light warm brown colour in your crease and close to your brow bone, a transition colour to blend all the colours. Next, put the darkest shade of your smoky eye (emerald green, royal blue, dark purple, sparkly grey) on your lid. To blend the dark lid colour with your transition colour, get a medium shade lighter than the lid colour but darker than the transition colour and blend it between them. Keep adding eyeshadow and blending until you get the result you are looking for. Add eyeliner and lashes, and add the medium shade on your lower lash line and smoke it out using the transition light brown shade. Put the highlighter on your inner corners to brighten up the look and open your eyes. Pair this eye look with simple face makeup and a nude lip colour, preferably glossy, which is trendy this year.

Subtle smoky eyes with luscious lashes

This look is elegant yet fun and could be dressed up or down depending on how vibrant you make your eyeshadow look, the lashes you use and the rest of the makeup.

As always, start with a cream shade on your brow bone. We will need three shades of brown, starting with a light warm shade similar to a bronzer, a warm darker brown and a neutral dark brown shade close to black.

Start with spreading the warm light shade in the crease and close to the brow bone. Next, put the darker brown in the centre of your lid towards the outer part of the eye, and create a V shape in the corner. Blend this colour slightly up towards the crease.

Then use your darkest brown shade in the outer corner of your eye and accentuate the V shape you created. Blend the harsh lines of the two dark brown shades using the transition shade to create a seamless look.

To make the eye pop, get a sparkly gold shade, put it in the inner third of your lid, and use the transition shade to erase the harsh line between the gold and medium brown. Use the medium brown on the two outer thirds of your lower lash line and use the transition shade to smoke out the lash line. Use a sparkly brown copper eyeliner in your lower waterline, and lastly, put the highlighter in your inner corner. Put eyeliner as usual and choose the most luscious set of lashes to finish off the look.

To dress it up or down, pair this look with either a dark lip colour or a light nude, and look your best this holiday season!
