February is the month of love, the eternal love for our families, relatives and friends. But have you asked yourself what love is? I’m sure each one of us has a unique perception about love.

Other emotions you may feel
Love can be defined as an emotion that can make you feel happy, sad, angry, or even overwhelmed. When you feel these emotions, you will also feel other emotions simultaneously. Such as
Happiness = everything is wonderful and beautiful, you feel stable, blissful
Sadness = insecure, unhappy, depressed, grief-stricken, sick-at-heart
Anger = offended, resentful, pissed-off, irritated, furious
Overwhelmed = shattered, devastated

What is self-love? You feel many emotions when you feel love. It doesn’t matter towards whom or what. But can you feel the same emotions when you love yourself?
Self-love is a journey where you start by discovering yourself and accepting your physical body. Then you start questioning how developed your mental and emotional states are. This is followed by identifying your weaknesses, values and skills.Being compassionate with yourself is very important. Once you start knowing yourself, you start to love all your components, you will start respecting, accepting, caring, feeling happy, secure, strong and beautiful.
As experts say in this field and the field of holistic health, when you feel love for yourself, you can give love to other people; love them without judging or expecting others to return the love you feel for them. Because your love is innate: when you love yourself, you will not suffer the fluctuating emotions that insecure people feel when trying to find love outside their own bodies; as one day they are happy, the other sad, overwhelmed or angry. When you have self-love, you’re the most powerful you can be and this spills over onto to others.
Your inner power
This is the love which I wish to relate to essential oils, your self-love and how aromatherapy can help. There are some pretty powerful essential oils which help with your inner power, strength and love.
Geranium Essential oil restores the mind’s balance, reduces stress and regulates the hormonal system
Rosa damascena essential oil has a soothing effect on emotions, particularly on depression, grief, jealousy and resentment. This oil also uplifts your heart and gives you positive feelings about yourself.
I blend Geranium and Rose when working on the body and face. I sometimes add some citrus essential oils to keep you cheerful and positive in your mind!
Essential oils are very powerful for their chemical components and properties which are obtained from a plant extract. They are absorbed through the respiratory system, passing through the limbic system, which is the system where memories are stored-the limbic system is the part of the brain involved in your behavioural and emotional responses. Using essential oils can thus help you change and improve behaviours, emotions and concepts you had received from your surroundings and your direct environment.
