Easy, quick to prepare and great for a crowd, Mafrookeh pistachio dessert is my go-to no-bake dessert for Ramadan and  Eid.

Mafrookeh

Ingredients

1 cup knafeh coarse dough

2 cups pistachios, ground

2 tbsp butter

½ cup icing sugar

3 tbsp sugar syrup

1 tsp rosewater

Fresh cream and candied

cherries for garnish

Directions

1. In a pan, rub the hair – like  knafeh dough with butter and stir well over medium heat until it’s roasted

2. Put dough with all other ingredients in a food processor and mix until they form a paste

3. Spread the mixture in moulds or a serving dish

4. Cool

5. Top with fresh cream and Candied cherries
